Govt to come up with Road safety Apps: m-Parivahan and e-Challan

Govt to come up with road safety apps m-parivahan and e-challan

To facilitate road safety and foster customer facilitation, the Ministry of Road transport and Highway is soon going to come up with two apps namely m-Parivahan and e-challan. These apps will be released on the eve of Road Safety week from 9-15 January by Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.

The main aim of m-Parivahan app is to ensure the safe driving of those passengers who are hiring drivers, also helping transporters in smooth carrying out the transmission process. This app will keep track of all the wrong deeds of a license holder starting from the back-end.

Therefore, on entering the license number into its search engine, transport authorities can access all the past details of any particular license holder which will further facilitate the process of generating e-challan against these offenders. In order to spread “good Samaritans”, the app will come up with a technology where people can report an accident and other on-road mishaps to traffic authorities by hiding their identity.

On the other hand, e-challan system will carry out the cashless challan system in India. The aim will be to connect all stakeholders through a common system and to build an integration of various useful software data under a single roof. The digitisation move will not only smooth the process but will also help in tracking the past records of offenders. According to transport Secretary Sanjay Mitra, e-challan will also integrate other two apps Vahan and Sarathi through which better enforcement of the law is possible.

With this, India is stepping up on its ‘Digital India’ initiative. The benefit of all the above said application can be observed from January 9, as they will be released for public use. From January 9-15, India will celebrate the Road Safety Week for the cause of promoting safe driving and ensuring safety all over India.
