Smartphones are nowadays one of the most essential parts of our life. To be honest, it’s the thing our day starts and ends with. Sadly, now we are so dependent upon a mere phone that we can’t imagine a life without it. Talking about smartphones, how we could not mention the endless apps we keep switching all day. No matter how efficient you are at multitasking, there’s definitely a point of time when you are just done with it. There must be instances when you just wish that you could get all the information you want in just a single app. Be it the updates of your travel time, your reservations, food and order deliveries and other essential tasks as well, sometimes we want just one organized place where we could handle them all at once. Well if you have ever wished for the same, start asking for something else as Google assistant has already granted it for you!
‘Visual Snapshots’ is a new feature by Google rolling out this week, and you can access it just by opening your Google Assistant. All you need to do is, tap the left icon in the top-right of the screen. It’s easier to access on iOS devices as compared to androids because, in iOS, the information will pop up as a notification soon as you unlock the phone.
Basically, this new Google Assistant feature curates your personal information into one scrollable interface, including flight times, hotel reservations, and all your day’s tidbits.
As you move from place to the place, just like the summary of your day, the visual snapshot keeps getting updated.
Google Assistant Product Manager Deniz Binay wrote in a blog post that, “Travel times are front and centre, so you know when to hit the road whether you’re getting ready for work, a lunch meeting, or heading home for the night. As you scroll down, you’ll see your agenda, reminders, restaurant or movie reservations, your favourite stocks, upcoming bills, packages in transit, and suggestions for new Actions you should try.”
Deniz also quoted that they’ll continue to add more useful features to the snapshot over time, for example, an overview of the notes and lists from Google Keep, Any.do, Bring!, Todoist and others; a new discovery will section to help us find activities nearby such as reminders on where you parked or personalized recommendations for music and podcasts and much more.
In the future, this feature is expected to offer even more information.
