Maruti Suzuki takes the opportunity of the festive season to present buyers the new Special Edition avatar of the beloved Alto 800, to be called the Alto 800 Utsav.
With the festive season already going on, and Diwali approaching, this clever move by Maruti Suzuki is sure to add to the existing sales figure of Alto 800. Most loved car of the entry-level segment, the Alto 800 Utsav gets few cosmetic changes in the current VXi trim, at an added cost apparently. The cosmetic changes include fiery graphics and decals on the sides and near C-pillar of the car.
The cosmetic changes are just to stand apart from the crowd, the added benefits of the Alto 800 Utsav includes upgraded door seal guards, revamped ORVM covers among several other features. The buyers can increase safety bracket by getting the optional driver side airbag and reverse parking assist as an additional option, although at an added cost.
The Alto 800 Utsav edition features some chrome detailing on the lower lip of the hood, circular chrome applique around the fog lamps, on the bumper and below the tail lights. While the new exterior is quite striking, the interior remains almost the same, except for the new seat covers.
The ongoing VXi trim features internally adjustable ORVMs, body-colored bumpers and door-handles, body side molding, a stereo system, central door locking that comes with remote keyless entry and rear door child lock.
Under the hood, the existing peppy 796-cc F8D three-cylinder petrol engine powers the car. The car is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission in a forward wheel drive setup. The lively engine churns out 35.3 kW or 48PS of max power and 69Nm of peak torque.
The Utsav edition with all the additional accessories will cost Rs 20,000 more than the ongoing VXi trim, making the Alto 800 Utsav ex-showroom price to be approx INR 3.55 lakhs. The car will compete in the entry-level segment with Renault Kwid, Datsun Redi-Go, and Hyundai Eon.
