Mark Zukerberg India - The TeCake

The social media giant, Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has revealed on its platform that is visiting IIT Delhi, this month for the company’s next Townhall Q&A at the campus on Wednesday, October 28 at 12:00 PM. A complete live video footage of the event will be posted on the same day itself as well.

The CEO said in a statement on his Facebook fan page, “I’m looking forward to hearing directly from one of our most active and engaged communities.” He further added that he will answer the questions from the audience from Facebook and the live audience at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.

Zuckerberg has earlier said during the PM Narendra Modi’s visit at Facebook’s headquarters in California for a townhall question and answer session on September 27, that both of the communities can work together to address social and economical problems.

It is assumed that Mark will promote the company’s project,, which is rebranded to ‘Free Basics by Facebook’, after receiving a heavy criticism in the country. ‘Free Basics’ is an app and a web service that can access more than 250 services that are currently being available in 19 countries, around the world including India. The firm is planning to add 60 new services to the platform.

It is the second time when Mark Zuckerberg is coming to India, this year. Last time he has visited a ‘cyber village’ in Rajasthan’s Alwar district.

Analytical reports suggest that apart form the US userbase, Facebook has largest number of users from India. As in June, the firm has revealed that they had 125 million users from India, out of 1.44 billion of total users around the globe.
