Pharmaceutical leader Eli Lilly with the collaborating of Disney is all set to published books for children who have Type-1 diabetes. On Thursday, Eli Lilly announced to launch custom books worldwide, dedicated to the India kids with diabetes. The books are named as – ‘Go, Team Coco!’ and ‘Coco’s Fun Activity Book’ and declared to be accessible with two language variants like Hindi and English.
The books were initially debuted in the year 2001, and now with the new version are expected to help around 70,000 children under the age of 15 who are suffering from Type 1 diabetes in India. The books will be made accessible from Thursday through paediatric endocrinologists’ and dialectologists’ clinics globally.
While announcing this news, Edgard Olaizola, the Managing Director of Eli Lilly and Company (India) addressed the media, ‘by means of this inventiveness; we are looking forward to presenting an empowering memo to families having kids with Type 1 diabetes. These books will motivate and empower both the children and their family members to live an active and dynamic life even with the illness.
In these books, the details of Type-1 diabetes have been given which will eventually help the kids and their families to find out the features of Type 1 diabetes like observing glucose, manifestations of low glucose, treatment, proper diet chart, practice and insulin arrangement, and much more. The book also includes a new Disney character, Coco – a magnetic and carefree monkey who has Type 1 diabetes, who will help caretakers and sufferers to understand the disease in a better approach. The books additionally incorporate common inquiries and answers, which can serve as friendly exchanges for families with their kids alongside their friends and siblings.
Alongside the books, Ely Lilly also introduced a Coco rich educational apparatus with a knapsack containing instructive material, flyers, pack inserts and device demonstration unit and much more for children.
