It will take another 6 months to complete the construction of Delhi’s biggest AYUSH hospital being built in Sarita Vihar, South Delhi on lines of All India Insitute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). After the completion the hospital will be able to cater up to 500 patients.
“The construction of the hospital is in full swing. It should be complete in six months,” said Union Minister of State for AYUSH Mr. Shripad Naik. He further added that each of the six AIIMS hospitals that are being built countrywide will have their separate AYUSH departments built within the premises.
On promoting yoga and ayurveda, he said that both of them are proven traditional practices and government is planning to appoint ayurvedic doctors at the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in rural areas. Also, the minister is planning to install AYUSH hospital in every district of India.
“Our mission is to build one AYUSH hospital in each district so that people can take the benefits of traditional medicines. Also, I have written to the Prime Minister to post ayurvedic doctors at PHCs in villages where allopathic doctors are not available,” he said.
Although AYUSH cannot replace or become an alternative to allopathy but it can be used along with allopathy to improve the healthcare facilities in the country. AYUSH can be a supplement to allopathy said the minister.
