B-Town actress Deepika Padukone first time visited Bangladesh and she was overwhelmed with the response she received. On the other hand fans went gaga to catch the glimpses of the actress.
On Saturday, Bollywood diva was there in the stage and she was asked to sing a Bengali song on the stage. The starlet hummed a Bengali song of classic Bengali actor Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen, “Ei poth Jodi na shesh hoye”. She listened the song from Piku director Shoojit Sircar while shooting of the film. Sircar said this is a popular Bengali song which is a classic. Still Bongs love this song. Deepika still remembers the lines.
Piku actress surprised to witness Bangladesh audience reaction for her song. When audience joined her she got positive vibes. About this she said, “I remember the words and soon everyone in huge auditorium were singing with me”. Deepika laughs, she was surprised to know that Suchitra Sen is from Bangladesh.
About Piku the 29 years old actress said, “Piku is a story of a middle class family girl and she shares a beautiful relation with her dad. A romantic comedy connected with every age-group. She is very happy to see Piku is doing so well. She is a type of girl who is the leading lady of Piku.”
Deepika said, “I also woke up to complaints about the clogged sink or the missing maid. Even today, I visit my parents in Bangalore, my sister and I lay the table for dinner and heat the food. I even help my mom with the Washing up and make my own bed. The maid is only during the day”. The role was challenging for her and she did it.Piku is critically as well as commercial hit and did well at the box office and it received surprise hit tag.
