DDLJ to continue screening at Maratha Mandir

A sad announcement, few days back, said that DDLJ will be taken down after completing 20 years of screening in Maratha Mandir. But in a recent twist of events, the Maratha Mandir cinemas’ authority has decided to take back its decision on drawing curtains on the film and has decided that the movie gets to continue its screening, despite running for more than 1000 weeks in the cinema.

“Given this, it has been mutually decided to continue the screening in the same 11:30 AM morning show – without breaking the uninterrupted run of the movie,” YRF said after a meeting with Maratha Mandir Management.

This decision was based on petitions received from an enormous amount of DDLJ fans who were in dismay over the removal of the film from the theatre. So, Yash Raj films and Maratha Mandir authority has decided to continue the screening of the amazing DDLJ.

For the people who still haven’t seen the movie, trust us, there are people out there who haven’t, and if you are one of them, then, DDLJ is a story of romance between two young people who are Indians and enjoy the material comfort of the west and spiritual pleasures of the East. In the push and pull of a liberalized economy, Raj in his Harley Davidson leather jacket is a conformist and Simran despite the occasional backless dresses is a virgin. Like fusion food presents two countries dishes, DDLJ portrays a fusion lifestyle.

Whereas the lovers of a previous generation might attempt to flee from their interfering families, DDLJ’s lovers need the approval of their elders. ‘DDLJ’ was released on October 19, 1995. The cult romantic film was directed by Aditya Chopra and starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Amrish Puri.

Since the movie is still running, we’d say you to run and enjoy this amazing tale of love and values.
