Dausa Police arrests Hema Malini’s driver for rash driving

The Dausa Police has arrested the driver of the veteran actress and BJP MP Hema Malini, on Friday after she met with a car accident. The driver said that due to lack of proper road lights their Mercedes got rammed into an oncoming Alto.

The arrested driver has been identified as Mahesh Thakur(35), native of Vrindavan. He was booked under the section 04-A of IPC. The section 04-A of IPC is a bailable offence, however, her driver may have to wait for the bail as he has no local connections.

On Friday morning a team of Dausa police has arrived in Jaipur and arrested the driver Mahesh at 7.45 am. Deputy superintendent of police, Dausa, Rajesh Tyagi said, “We have arrested him under section 304-A (Causing death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) which is a bailable offense.” The driver was then taken to the accident site fo the spot verification.

Refuting the reports saying Hema Malini was driving the vehicle, Tyagi, said, “The airbags of accident met vehicle were opened properly on the driver and his next seat on the left while the airbag of the back seats including the left side where Hema Malini was sitting did not open. There was also blood on the left side where she was sitting thereby clarifying that she was not driving the vehicle.”
