The corporate espionage case that unraveled on 19th February and made many significant figures in Shastri Bhawan come to light under the allegations of document leakage, has now taken a new turn with two more people coming in the grasp of it.

Delhi Police managed to arrest two people of environment ministry and the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) which included Jatinder Nagpal, personal assistant to the joint secretary in the ministry and Vipan Kumar, personal assistant to a member of the UPSC. The two have been detained for 5 days under police custody in the hearing under a local court.

“Kumar had joined service as a Stenographer Grade D in Ministry of Petroleum in 1996 where he served till 2010. He has been getting documents stolen from there either himself or with the help of his contacts,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav mentioned in a statement.

The duo has accepted to the crime that they both used to leak the documents under a common e-mail id and have forwarded many documents to their clients which were otherwise confidential.

The duo came under scrutiny after the second FIR recorded in which five people were named otherwise no evidence was found on the two of them. The FIR also included the name of Lokesh Sharma, who is an energy consultant of Noida-based Infraline consultancy firm and was arrested by the Crime Branch when they busted the second module in the corporate espionage case.

Around about 16 people have been arrested in connection with the two FIRs of document leakage by the Crime Branch so far, and many more are in line to come. The case of document leaking to gain monetarily has been a very old business and after the Modi government, these cases are coming to light. Many more cases await that share the same stature as that of this case, and soon they will be revealed and executed.
