Coolpad, the Chinese competitor of Xiaomi has launched its smaller version of Note 3, the Note 3 lite at a price of Rs 6,999. This 5-inch lite smartphone is a toned down version of the original 5.5 Note 3 launched in November for Rs, 8,999.

In a smart move by Coolpad, the Note 3 is the cheapest smartphone to boast a fingerprint scanner. This phone will also be available exclusively on, with the first flash sale on January 28, 2:00 pm. Registrations have already been started from 5:00 pm today.

The device has got a compact and sturdy look which offers a textured rear panel. The smartphone sports a 5-inch 720p HD, 320 dpi IPS display and runs Android 5.1-based Cool UI which is Coolpad’s custom skin consisting of heavy customization with floating apps, multitasking key and C-button.

The Coolpad 5-inch Lite version runs on a 64-bit 1GHz quad-core MT6735 processor with 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM with support for microSD card whereas the bigger version runs on a 64-bit 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 CPU.

In the camera section, Coolpad Note 3 Lite offers 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras. The device is dual SIM with support for 4G connectivity. Coolpad is offering standard earphones along with charging adapter and cable with the box.

The lite version comes with a 2500 mAh of battery claiming to offer up to 200 hours of standby time (single Sim) and 8 hours of talk time.

With the only smartphone to offer a 3GB RAM under Rs. 10,000, the smartphone market has become a lot tougher for other device makers.
