Yet another ultra pocket friendly smartphone has started creating hype in the Indian market. With the announcement of Rs. 501 smartphone, ChampOne C1, Indian customers has started rushing to the official registration portal to get subscription which is mandatory for the flash sale, holding on Friday from 11:00 AM.
The ‘Made in India’ mobile, ChampOne C1 is reported to be a 4G LET mobile featuring ultra-modern fingerprint scanner at its back. ChampOne Communications is an unknown company which has listed this new low-budget smartphone in its website with the price tag Rs. 7,999.
Now the question here arises that for what, the company is giving away the handsets at such a low cost? It clearly visible that the ChampOne C1 is a smartphone priced at Rs. 7,999 and company is offering it at Rs. 501. But the catch here is that the Rajasthan-based tech-firm ChampOne Communication will sell the handset at such a cheap price, otherwise, there will be an option to purchase it by paying full price i.e. Rs. 7,999. The announcement of Rs. 501 is just a publicity stunt for overwhelming the market, and only a few lucky winners will get chance o grab a ChampOne C1 for Rs. 501.
ChampOne C1 specs and features
The ChampOne C1 is fronted with a 5.0-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display coupled with a 5-megapixel of front facing camera. While, it is backed with an 8-megapixel of rear camera and a 2500 mAh of battery, under the hood.
Running on Android 5.1 Lollipop, the handset is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor with 2GB RAM. The manufacturer offers 16GB of internal storage. The dual-SIM 4G smartphone comes in White, Silver and Gold color variants, and offers microUSB port and a 3.5mm Audio jack.
Here’s how you can get ChampOne C1 at Rs. 501
ChampOne C1 501 is only valid for lucky buyers who will take part in the first flash sale and will be selected though a lucky draw arranged by the firm.
To take part in the first slash sale of ChampOne C1, one needs to browse the website of ChmapOne ‘www.champ1india.com’ and register by filling up the given form. After successful registration, the user will have to pay Rs. 51 for some sort of subscription, after which they will get a unique code which is meant for using in the first flash sale for participating in the lucky draw. However, this offer is only valid if the users choose for ‘Cash on Delivery’.
The overwhelming response from the consumers has resulted in some technical glitch and due to which the company has halted the registrations for next 24 hours, as per the statement displayed on the website. It reads, “We are facing technical issue with our payment gateway partner [Ccavenue (Avenues India Pvt. Ltd.)]. You would not be able to register for the application for next 24 hours. We sincerely regret for your inconvenience and would try to get it fixed as soon as possible.” However, the website is refraining us for last two days.
Let’s not forget the Freedom 251 and Docoss X1 by Noida-based Ringing Bells and Jaipur-based firm. Their websites were extremely fishy, with many technical goof-ups, and of course, the glitching website reminds us of the horrible inefficiency by Ringing Bells when it first announced its smartphone.
Poor customer support
The Jodhpur-based firm has provided two phone numbers on its website, out of which one was switched off, meanwhile, the calls on the other contact number and a toll free number went unanswered. ChampOne seems to be one of the numerous startups that have recently started sprouting up in India, looking to make headlines by launching smartphones at incredible prices.
We suggest our readers not to get over exited about the smartphone as it might be another Freedom 251 and you might not be lucky enough to get the handset in such a wow! price. However, it is crystal clear that the smartphone maker is trying to promote the handset and the startup with this offer by giving away the phone to a limited number of people. If you still find this phone perfect for you and wants to purchase it desperately, ChampOne gives you a chance to but it straight.
Still we suggest you to go for another options available in the market at such price point. And advise to stay away from deals that seem too good to be true from brand new companies without a service history or a reputation to lose.
