With the launch of Bhaiyyaji superhitt, the majorly accepted Bollywood couple, Ameesha and Sunny will be back on the screen after ‘Gadar-Ek Prem Katha.” In contrary to the rumours, lead actress of the movie Ameesha Patel said that Bhaiyyaji superhitt is not a sequel of ‘Gadar.’
“I am happy to come back with Sunny Deol on big screen. But I feel our audiences are even more excited about it. But I want to clear the fact that this movie is not ‘Gadar,’ part 2. That was a serious love story and this is a comedy film. The Tara Singh and Sakhina jodi of Sunny Ji and Ameesha will be coming in a new avatar. So, it will be wrong to expect that this movie will recreate Gadar,” Patel said.
Amisha furhter added that she is very happy to come back on screen with Sunny Deol after ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, which was a Bollywood action movie launched in 2001. The movie had the second highest footfall after ‘Sholay’ as it has managed to collect Rs. 60 crore in 18 weeks.
During the event Ameesha revealed that she has ‘a fun character’ in the film. She said, “My role is quite different. Till now I haven’t played a role like this. but now It is little early to talk more about my role.”
Since the film has a Bihar backdrop we asked whether she has to learn the dialect, “My role is a kind of modern girl. So I didn’t have to learn the dialect but Preity has learned it well.”
Besides, the film also stars Preity Zinta, who was absent on the screen for a long time due to her business ventures. Preity has worked with biggest stars of Bollywood inclusing Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman, Hrithik, Saif in her prime, however, she revealed in an event that Sunny Deol is her favourite actor.
After eight years, the Kya Kehna actress is finally working with Sunny. Explaining her chemistry with him, she said, “It is not that long ago also, yes, there was a break but I am very happy to be back on the sets and I have always loved the Deol family; they have always been very close to my heart. I used to be scared of him earlier but I am very happy to do this film because it is an enjoyable film.”
“After a long time, I am doing a film where I have also enjoyed doing the shots. It is always a pleasure to work with Sunny because he makes life easy as he is not just an actor; he is also a director. He always thinks about the actor, which is very nice and comforting. When I had done my first film Farz, he had taken care of me.”
Bhaiyyaji Superhitt is Preity Zinta’s first cinematic venture after her marriage to Los Angeles-based Gene Goodenough.
When asked about her character in the film. Preity said, “I am characterless in this film. I am just being a little selfish because I am doing a film after sometime, so I want the proper promo to come up (before revealing her character).”
