Recent study, published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, revealed that eating an avocado every day, as part of your daily diet, can improve cholesterol levels in obese people.
The study constituted of 45 healthy, overweight or obese participants between the age range of 21 and 70. They were subjected to three different diets which were designed to lower the cholesterol level. Prior to the study, participants were probed to follow an average American diet for two weeks. Then they were randomly assigned a low-fat diet of two types: a moderate-fat diet without avocado, and a moderate-fat diet with avocado.
The result was astounding with a 13.5 mg/dL drop in the LDL cholesterol of people consuming the diet including avocado.
