Asus launches budget smartphone Zenfone C for Rs 5,999

Asus revealed its latest smartphone Zenfone C (ZC451CG), which comes in the league of budget smartphones in Indian Smartphone Market. The Zenfone C is priced at Rs 5,999 and will be available for sale from February 11 via India Online retail giant, Flipkart. However, consumers can avail the product in Asus exclusive rock-and-mortar shops starting February 18. The device is available in White, Black and Red colour variants.

Asus Zenfone C runs on Asus ZenUI based on Android 4.4 KitKat supported by a 1.2GHz Intel Z2520 CloverTrail processor with Hyper-Threading Technology (2 cores, 4 threads, and 1MB cache), which is coupled with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 8GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

It is featured with a 4.5-inch FWVGA(854x480pixel) twisted nematic display. The device sports a 5 megapixel of primary camera that results in decent images captured in daylight. Also, due to its PixelMaster technology, the device captures 400 percent brighter images in low-light photography. For video calling, the company has provided a front facing VGA camera.

According to a company’s spokesperson, the device offers up to 29.8 hours of 3G talk time and up to 260 hours of standby time, as it is  powered by a 2100mAh battery. For connectivity options, the dual-sim smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, A-GPS and a microUSB port. It measures 136.5x67x10.9mm and weighs 149 grams.

However, he didn’t says a word about Android’s latest 5.0 Lollipop update.
