The Taiwanese multinational AsusTek Computer Inc. (Asus) on Thursday has officially launched its all new ZenFone 4 series including smartphones of six variants at an official event in Taiwan. Alongside the launch of the new handset, the tech giant also has confirmed that the updates for Android O are going to be rolled out for the entire series of new ZenFone 4 as well as to the last year released ZenFone 3 soon. As the conglomerate confirmed, the roll out for the update of latest Android O will be gradually completed in-between the updates, rolled out by Google and the second half of the coming year.
Marcel Campos, Head of Global Content Marketing at Asus, during the launch event of the new ZenFone 4 series has officially announced that Asus ZenFone 4 series including six models like ZenFone 4 Selfie, ZenFone Selfie Pro, ZenFone 4, and ZenFone 4 Pro will be running on ZenUI 4.0 out-of-the-box, and the supported smartphones will be given the Android O update by the end of 2018 second half.
The entire series of ZenFone 4 series is already running on Asus’ new ZenUI 4.0, which means, the updates and alterations that will come with Android O will not be varied. However, for the Zenfone 3 series, the update will be pretty much big. Currently, the Zenfone 3 series is running on the older version of UI, and with the upgrade, these smartphones will also be updated to Asus’ latest UI.
While shedding new lights on the ZenUI 4.0, the Taiwanese multinational claimed that the new UI is the “most luminous Android UI skin to date”, developed by Asus. Moreover, the installation of ZenUI 4.0 will overall improve the performance of popular apps on the Asus handsets. In contrast to the ZenUI 3.5, the latest ZenUI 4.0 is also claimed to feature less quantity of bloatware which will cut down the number of 35 preloaded apps to 13 apps. Moreover, it will also come up with some new apps including the Twin apps which facilitate users to create two simultaneous accounts on the same handset, and the ‘Page Maker’ app which is a bookmarking application.
About Android O update, the latest version of the Operating System will bring similar app shortcuts like 3D Touch on Apple iPhone and iPad. Moreover, the OS will also come up with some minor refinements with the interface alongside some extensive additions to a refined setting menu, new fonts and icons, and auto-fill feature. Additionally, the devices with Android O update will also enjoy a better battery life. Among other crucial features and specs, the Android O will bring the option of background limits for ensuring lower data consumption and higher battery life, improved notification channels, premium audio quality, adaptive icons, and much more.
