Apple unveils new MacBook, ResearchKit, Watch at Spring Forward event

Apple Inc at the March 9th Spring Forward event unveiled a new MacBook along with Watch and other announcements including ResearchKit program in the San Francisco. However, the prime focus was on the launch of new razor thin and compact MacBook 12 and stunning Watch.

Apple Inc first in the line introduced a new program called ResearchKit that primarily focus on iPhone users around the world to contribute to the medical researches. For now ResearchKit involves nearly five apps for Asthma, Parkinson’s Disease, Diabetes, Breast Cancer and Cardiovascular disease. iPhone users can participate in medical researches by contributing their medical data through these apps, which will help medical researchers in bringing more breakthrough studies. Apple has made it completely open source for other companies and developers to join the platform.

Next in the line was the much rumored MacBook. Apple launched a brand new line of MacBook in its notebook series. Coming in different color variants, Gold, Silver and Space Gray, MacBook is thinnest computer company has ever built. It houses an Intel Core M processor, 256GB of SSD storage and 8 GB of RAM in an unibody that is just 1.31 cm thick. Surprising part is that it is power packed with 12-inches of Retina display with batteries running for the entire day, and it weighs just under two pounds (~1kg).

Another exciting announcement revealed the availability of the Apple Watch and its different variants. Starting with a price tag of $549 (Rs.35,000), the Watch can cost you up to $17,000 (Rs.10,65,142). There are several features available in the Watch and its a perfect companion for the iPhone users.

Apple Inc also brought some significant changes in the MacBook Air and Pro line by upgrading them to newer Intel 5th-generation processors. However, Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch received the new Force Touch trackpad.
