Apple Inc is expected to take center stage on October 16, and unveil the much awaited iPad Air 2. According to mock-ups that have surfaced, iPad Air 2 is quite a thin tablet, and even is thinner than the new Samsung Tab S having 8.4 and 10.4 inches of screen. When the South Korean smartphone manufacturer launched it, it was thinner than iPad Air; however, the rumored iPad Air 2 will outperform Tab S in both the thickness and performance.
Since the last year, Apple has seen a decline of sales in its iPad line, however, the company is expected to lure more customers by bumping the specifications of the device. The one big news here is that the Cupertino giant is going to offer gold as a color option for the iPad buyers. Earlier, iPad Mini, iPad and iPad Air were only available in two color options, space gray and silver.
Coming down to the specifications, iPad Air 2 will feature a thickness of 6.55 mm, supported by a powerful A8 dual-core processor and low power M8 processor to track your fitness all day long. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the iPad Air 2 will feature a Touch-ID sensor, which will be backed by NFC to support Apple Pay. Apple Pay is a new mobile payment method that allow users to pay for the product or service at the POS (Point of Sale) just by pressing the Touch ID sensor.
This launch event is strictly about iPad Air 2, however, analysts believe that the company will also launch a new Retina iMac and Macbook Air, along with the all new Mac OS X Yosemite.
The Cupertino giant is expected to launch a newer version of the Macbook Air sporting a Retina display, which will be equipped Intel’s latest Fanless Core-M processors.
