Android Nougat 7.0 is the most anticipated Operating System of Google which introduced on March 9, 2016, as the Beta version and Google officially launched its complete version on 22nd August of the same year. Though Nexus devices are the first model to get Nougat 7.0 update, yet the entire Nexus lineup was not privileged. However, Google promised to bring the OS update regularly to each of the Android devices, and it truly kept its pledge.
In the middle week of September, Google has announced the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 LTE smartphones to have the latest Android OS Nougat 7.0 in ‘coming weeks’ and keeping its promise; Google started rolling out the latest update of Nougat 7.0 on Nexus 6 from today. Along with the Android Nougat 7.0, Google also launched monthly Android security patch for Nexus and Pixel devices.
As reported by the security bulletin, from today, Nexus 6 users will start receiving the update for Android Nougat 7.0 along with the upgraded of October Security patch. As sourced reports, Google has launched two strings in its October security patch along which, one started rolling out from October 1, and the other one is going to commence on October 5. The first string of the security patch is an inequitable patch with few improvements and bug fixings, while the later patch will bring some crucial fixes for the Nexus and Pixel smartphones.
As reported by the Officials of Google, the October security patch resolves more than 40 bugs and brings a cluster of improvements with it. However, the first release has introduced some usual bug fixings, and the later version is slated to bring all the important fixes with it.
In August, Google released the first update of Android 7.0 Nougat to Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C tablet, and Android One General Mobile 4G devices, and kicked out the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 LTE from the lineup. However, as said by the officials in September, Google has finally started rolling out the Android Nougat 7.0 to Nexus 6 handsets and the users have already begun receiving the upgrade notification. The download size of Android Nougat 7.0 is around 860MB accompanying the build number of ‘NBD90Z’.
Today, Google is expected to dispatch its two new smartphones called ‘Google Pixel and Pixel XL’ and few hours of its official launch event, the Nexus 6 users start receiving the update for Android Nougat 7.0. To recall, both Google Pixel and Pixel XL are also going to have a pre-installed Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box. For now, the availability of this high-end upgraded OS is limited only to Pixel and Nexus devices along with few exclusive handsets of other brands like LG and Motorola and soon is expected to available on other Android-based phones.
