Following the Flipkart-Xiaomi trend, Micromax’s fully-owned subsidiary Yu Televentures sold nearly 10,000 Yu Yureka smartphones at Amazon.in in just 3 seconds through an online flash sale. The device was announced by the company with a price tag of Rs. 8.999, last month.
“Thanks for the response. Yureka was stock out in 3 seconds,” official YU account tweeted. Unlike Xiaomi, which sell its product on a weekly basis, Micromax said that the next flash sale will resume on January 22, 2015.
As per the reports, the next sale may clash with the sale of prime competitor Xiaomi’s Redmi note, which goes on sale every Tuesday. The Redmi Note runs on previous generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and has a lesser internal memory. It is also Rs.1,000 more expensive than the Yureka.
As earlier reported, YU Yureka, cheapest 4G smartphone with high tech-specs, it runs on Cyanogen OS 11 based on Android KitKat 4.4.4 supported by 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615(64-Bit) Octa-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. For storage, company has provided 16 GB of internal memory expandable up to 32 GB.
The high-performance bar is featured with 5.5-inch (13.97 centimeters) 720×1280 IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It boasts 13MP primary camera with dual LED flash and 5MP front-facing camera, fueled with 2500mAH battery.
Meanwhile, Redmi Note runs on Android 4.2 with Xiaomi’s MiUi interface supported by 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The smartphone boasts a 13 MP of primary camera and 5 MP of front-facing camera, fueled with 3100 mAh of battery. It sports a 5.5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 includes the smartphones in the phablet category.
The Redmi Note mobile differs by its chipset as its 4G variant is powered by 1.6Ghz quad-core Qualcomm 400 processor, on the other hand, its lower option is mechanized by 1.7 GHz Octa core cortex A7 Mediatek chipset. As per TeCake analysts, Yu Yureka seems to win over the Xiaomi’s devices according to the price and tech-specs comparisons.
Moreover, the device was offered by Amazon to win through a contest on the daily basis. The website awarded the smartphones from 8 Jan to 12 Jan’ 15.
