Megastar Big B, an active blogger and user of different social networks, has been tagged as the Social Media Person of the Year, by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI). Since Amitabh Bachchan will not be able to attend the function to be organised in New Delhi, so representative of the Association awarded him in advance.
He was presented with the award on Tuesday. He posted on his blog that “there is an association of social media for India, and they honoured me with ‘Social Media Person of the Year’”. He also appreciated his fans in his blog that made it possible for him to get honoured. A 72-year old posted a photo in which he is receiving the trophy and said that the function is in New Delhi, and he will not be able to make it there. “So they came here to give it to me,” he said. He also informed in his blog that the video will be played at the ceremony to be held in a few days.
Big B uses the most of social media to interact with his fans and well-wishers. The legendary film star has over 12.5 million followers on Twitter, who follows him apart from 18,857,196+ likes on his Facebook page.
He was engaged in polio awareness campaign as he was a brand ambassador where he proudly educates people to take their children to polio booth. He also promoted this awareness through his Twitter account. He also supported the respect for girl child and he tweeted in his twitter account, ‘As UN ambassador for Girl Child, I hope and pray we accomplish same results as polio…rid nation of discrimination against women.’ He also said that he has an interest to run an anti-tobacco campaign if the gets a chance to do so. Big B admitted that he did not smoke in his entire life.In Comedy Nights with Kapil too, he told people that smoking and drinking is dangerous to health and leads to slow death.
