Amazon introduces voice assistant enabled bluetooth speaker, Echo

Amazon has come up with a very new form of voice assistant that has been packed in cylindrical speaker. Calling it an Amazon Echo, the online retail giant has introduced a new speaker that can execute voice commands or do the given tasks. It can set an alarm for you, play music and lot more. All you have to do is call her name, which is ‘Alexa.’

Talking about the hardware, this speaker is normally a Bluetooth enabled speaker but has seven microphones on the top that makes it different from all of the sound emitting devices in this category. The Echo can hear your voice from any corner of the room, and it can eliminate noise and disturbance that might get in while you are giving it a command. It has a 360-degree speaker, allowing you to hear the quality sound. It supports a Bluetooth connectivity for streaming the music across different devices and a built-in support of music from Amazon Music Library, Prime Music, Tune In and iHeartRadio.

What’s amazing about this speaker is that it can serve almost every query you may throw at it, according to some of the reviews the Alexa was able to pull up the results from Wikipedia.

The Echo is ready to be shipped, and it has an in-built support for the Amazon Fire smartphone and the Android. iOS users can also take a full advantage of it by using the web app in Safari. The Echo can setup purchases, alarms, reminders and lot more with the use of few simple command. It is probably the very first speaker in the world to have such features and apparently Amazon is going to recover the loss it had due to the failure of Fire phone.

The company is currently selling this speaker for $199 (12,225 INR) and for the Prime subscribers its only $99 (5940 INR).
