AIMIM Owaisi drags Salman Khan into controversy again

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader and a three-time Member of Parliament, representing the Hyderabad constituency in Lok Sabha, the Lower House of the Indian Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi, has again created controversy with actor Salman Khan, saying that he was responsible for drunk driving and killing innocent and poor people, sleeping peacefully on the footpath. He then went on to say that, first Salman Khan killed the poor and then covered up the story saying that he was not even driving.

“Enforce alcohol prohibition. This will help the cause of `Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme launched by the Modi government. There are many villages I have seen in this state where panchayats have not allowed liquor to be sold,” he said.

He then turned the issue towards beef ban in Maharashtra, claiming that the livelihood of 1.5 lakh Dalits and 2 lakh Muslims would be affected. So, instead of the beef ban, liquor should be prohibited as alcohol is the major reason for domestic violence in villages and also drunk driving.

This is not the first time that Owaisi has dragged Salman into controversies. Earlier, prior to the Parliamentary elections he had insulted Salman for flying kites with the then BJP prime ministerial candidate and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He had called him a “nachne gaane waala” and equated him to Salman Rushdie, author of the controversial book Satanic Verses.

Salman Khan is currently going through his Buck Hunting case in Jodhpur and is never out of controversy. He is a man of flaws, but he does prove it with his social work, and he has always won the respect of every person he works with.

Maybe, for him to be dragged by Owaisi was just a publicity stunt to downgrade the Bhai of Bollywood, but rest assured, Salman won’t be bothered by these teeter tatter nagging of those who themselves fail to look at their own misdoings.
