Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda to play the lead role in the Sarabjit’s biopic. Yes, the filmmaker Omung Kumar roped the Highway actor to essay the role of Sarabjit Singh in his next feature film which is a biopic of the Indian person who stayed in jail for two decades till his death.
Reportedly, when the Mary Kom director announced his next film Sarabjit, he firstly cast B-Town actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to reprise the role of Sarabjit Singh’s sister Dalbir Kaur. Probably, the actress already gave her nod.
Now, the latest report is saying the Filmfare Award winner movie star Randeep Hooda will be seen in role of the assassinated Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan. The maker himself confirm the news on his official page of micro blogging site, “Aishwarya and @RandeepHooda in my next film SARBJIT coming soon” – Omung Kumar
Earlier, Omung was considering Farhan Akhtar and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan for the lead role in the movie. Finally, Randeep Hooda publicized as the leading man of the upcoming biopic film.
Sarabjit, an Indian national, was convicted of terrorism and spying by a Pakistani court and sentenced to death in 1991 but the government had stayed his execution for an indefinite period in 2008.
Meanwhile, the former beauty queen Aishwarya roped to play Dalbir’s role, who fought for her brother’s release from the Lahore jail but her quest ended tragically when he died in 2013 following a brutal attack by fellow prisoners.
Omung Kumar has earlier directed the much-acclaimed biopic on boxer Mary Kom starring Priyanka Chopra. The movie garnered applauds and Priyanka was lucky to bag many awards for the role. Even the film won very prestigious National Award too. Currently, the actor is busy completing shooting of his next movie Do Lafzoon Ki with Southern starlet Kajal Agarwal.
