It is yet another black spot on the face of Indian government as every year several rail accidents take place killing and injuring hundreds of people. Government has been giving confidence to people for a reduction in rail mishaps, but these numbers seem to grow exponentially.  Nothing has changed except death count and casualties. Not only these accidents kill people but it also results in loss of government property that requires massive repair. It involves the wastage of capital which we as taxpayers pay to the government.

Why such mishap occurs now and then? When Delhi Metro can survive with zero accidents that with a train frequency of 1 minute in peak hours then why can’t express trains avoid accidents? Is county’s most used mode of transportation safe?
