The leading mid-range smartphone maker, Xiaomi has announced that the firm has managed to sell out around 8,00,000 Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 smartphone in just 12 hours at its home country, China. On Sunday during the first flash sale for the device after the launch, the firm has made a new record in the history of China by selling a gigantic number of smartphones in the limited period of time.
The firm has earlier made its presence in the Guinness book of World records by selling a total of 2.11 million smartphones within 24 hours in the country.
The all new Redmi Note 2 from Xiaomi will be available in two variants, as 4G, which supports TDD-LTE + TD-SCDMA and a 3G variant with TDD-LTE + FDD-LTE, at a price of CNY 799 (around Rs 8000) and CNY 899 (approx Rs 9000), respectively. The Chinese built comes with Mi Roaming app pre-installed, which enables the users to use the smartphone with a virtual SIM while traveling.
Apart this both of the variants are featured with a 5.5-inch full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels 400 ppi display with a 5 megapixel of user-facing OmniVision camera placed above it. Meanwhile, for primary photography solution the manufacturer has bundled the handset with a 13 megapixel of rear camera, which features an LED flash for supporting low-light photography, and phase detection autofocus (PDAF) for a 0.1s focus speed.

The Redmi Note 2 handset, running on MIUI 7 is backed by a 2.0 GHz octa core MediaTek Helio X10 chipset that is coupled with a 2 GB of RAM. It comes with 16 GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot with support of up to 32 GB. The smartphone is fueled with a 3060 mAh of battery.
As far connectivity is concerned the Redmi Note 2 includes Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Micro-USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and infrared, meant for universal remote control of compatible appliances. In addition, the onboard sensors list include an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and a digital compass (magnetometer).
The device automatically categorises the pictures on the basis of people, as it sports face recognition in the gallery, which automatically sorts and categorise the images according to people’s faces.
