Militants threatened Libyans’ by assaulting a hotel in Libya’s capital, Tripoli. According to the sources, the hotel was popular among foreigners and the militants action resulted in the death of four people and 12 or more injuries. As per our reporter, two foreigners died in this evil behavior of the militants.
The cruel hearts a.k.a. militants stormed the Corinthia Hotel, Tripoli on Tuesday early morning. According to the employees of Corinthia and sources, four-five militants rushed into the lobby with an open fire and thus killing a Filipino women and an American, and combating two guards. As per the security officials, an explosion also took place in a car parked meters away from the hotel. After an hour, a militant armed with suicide vests increased the commoner’s terror by detonating explosives. Our reporter too added that the remaining militants might be in the building.
“I suddenly heard shots and saw people running towards me, and we all escaped from the back door through the underground garage. The hotel did a lockdown after that”, stated a horrified witness.
As per a tweet, the attack was carried out by an Islamic state though the claim cannot be verified. According to some local new channel, the assault was targeting Omar Al-Hassi, Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Islamist government of Tripoli as he often met the officials of Corinthia Hotel. The SITE Intelligence team showed their suspicion on a group calling itself Islamic state in Tripoli. Their doubt revolved around the fact that this Islamic group might be behind the attack and can claim the attack as a revenge for the death of Abu Anas Al Liby, an Al-Qaeda militant who was charged in the 1998 bomb blast of U.S. embassies in Africa.
