Delhi would soon see what is claimed to be “future of 4G.” Vodafone India to offer 4G LTE services to its subscribers in Delhi NCR by this December. The firm has confirmed the rumours, and the company is planning to offer high-speed internet across NCR region and has also started instaling 4G towers across the area and will activate them as soon as possible.
Vodafone India Business Head for Delhi NCR, Apoorva Mehrotra revealed that they are very excited in launching 4G services around the national capital. He further added that it will be on the superior 1800 MHz band for the subscribers.
The company has invested more that Rs. 350 crores for the project hand installed over 550 sites in the last six months in the region. “Key corridors of Delhi/NCR will be part of the first wave of the 4G roll-out, which will be launched across the circle in a phased manner. Testing of 4G services has commenced successfully,” the company says.
The Delhi NCR area that includes, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon and contributes about 30 percent of data revenue, across the country, which makes it ‘one of the top data markets for Vodafone in India. According to Vodafone, the region is developing around 50 per cent year-on-year for the firm.
Currently, Bharti Airtel is offering its 4G services to the sector. While, Reliance JIo Infocomm is also planning to roll out commercial 4G service in Delhi but it is yet to announce the details.
