Last year in October, TRAI (The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has showcased JIO as slowest 4G speed provider but with its latest data, it has just reversed the past declaration. Now according to the TRAI, Reliance JIO is providing fastest 4G service than Vodafone and Airtel.
Till December 2016, the data shows that RJio has topped the chart amongst its other competitors such as Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Reliance itself. TRAI has given this fact on the basis of result collected by the speed testing app of it. The speed testing app is MySpeed Portal and a user can easily find it on Android or iOS application store. The same is also available for web users.
The only aspect on which RJio is still lagging is its uploading speed. When tested the software of MySpeed portal, RJio showed an average speed of 2.62 Mbps. Vodafone topped the list with an average uploading speed of 4.09 Mbps followed by Idea at 3.9 Mbps and Airtel at 3.31 Mbps.
However, on the basis of downloading speed, RJio is running ahead of all the above-mentioned competitors. The portal showed the average downloading speed of RJio to be 9.92 Mbps. Reliance’s own network “Reliance” showed that it has a uploading capacity of just 5.74 Mb per second. Airtel ranked just below RJio with 8.07 Mbps uploading speed followed by Vodafone with 7.53 Mbps speed.
All the data are taken until December 2016. Reliance Jio has also marked an end to its “Welcome Offer” on 31st December 2016. From 1st January 2017 onwards, Jio has limited the service by allowing only 1 GB of download per day which was earlier 4 GB per day. Additionally, it has added two “booster” packs to enable subscribers to avail additional 4G data on the expiry of free promotional data.
