OnePlus-OxygenOs-tecake

The mobile handset manufacturing startup, OnePlus has officially announced its Android Lolipop 5.0 based operating system, OxygenOS. On Friday, Pete Lau, OnePlus CEO said that the company has decided to give an official name to the firmware, which is expected to launch on February 12, and hopefully will start shipping on the very same day. The OS was already unveiled by the corporation in its flagship killer, ‘One’ smartphone.

Previously in the late November it was reported that OnePlus is going to develop its own custom ROM that was guessed to be launched in Q1 of the year 2105. However, in December, an “early community preview” of this newly developed unnamed ROM was offered by the company. The build, however, was very immature and was no different than the Android builds that are in their rootsThe early build of the ROM is already available for download, but the amount of bugs and issues reported by the users is initially putting a hurdle to its download count.

One of the company’s spokesperson said, “our developer team have fixed the reported issues by now and the users will get a flawless experience in new OxygenOs.”

According to the analysts, it could be easily guessed that OxygenOS will apparently become a hit among Indian users as the Cyanogen build of the OnePlus One has stopped receiving updates due to a recent collaboration between Cyanogen and Indian smartphone manufacturing and retail giant, Micromax.

In addition, the company shed no words about the country specific details, whether or not the users from US, India or elsewhere will see the update at the same time. However, looking in the past, the company is expected to release the update worldwide. OxygenOS is already climbing the popularity for the reason that it is “simple and pure… fundamental building block,” but we need to wait till we see the ROM benchmarks for its stability, support and several other factors.
