Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) has started a new trade-in program which will allow the customers to give up their old Android smartphone or PC for the new Mac or iPhone. Cupertino giant has now started accepting product from other brands for the Apple Store credits. Apparently, the Cupertino giant is going to take care of the global e-waste by recycling the products from other brands.
In the beginning, the program is expected to cover the US, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and Italy. Customers can trade in their old devices at the company’s retail stores, however, Apple is also planning to launch an online portal with a pick-up.
Apple Inc will now be taking care of generation old iPhones, Windows Phones and PCs, Android Smartphones and BlackBerry devices.
Apple Inc has also started a trade-in program in the China, which will allow the customers to trade-in their old iPhones for the new and the latest iPhone or the Apple store credits. Reports suggest that the Foxconn, one of the largest contract manufacturer for Cupertino giant, will be in-charge of the entire process. Apple Inc will be kept at bay from any of the iPhones which were exchanged under this program.
Foxconn will be repairing the received iPhones and will sell them at the e-commerce retail giants in China. However, the company is also in talks with the Apple to sell them at the retail stores.
The trade-In programs without a doubt will bring in more sales for the Apple Inc.
Apple Watch sales with reservation
Apple Inc is only a few days left to launch the very first wearable, Apple Watch, in the market. In initial phases, Cupertino giant will be rolling it out in the US, UK, parts of Europe, Hong Kong and few other countries.
However, unlike the first come first buy iPhone purchase, Apple Watch will be on sale with a prior registration. The probable reason behind is the restricted supply of the wearable, and prior reservations will help Apple maintain supply-demand ratio for the Watch.
However, Apple Inc is going to give the privilege of breaking the queue and purchase without reservation to those who will be buying the $10,000 Apple Watch Edition made out of the gold.
Apple will soon be launching a Product Reservation Page for the customers to register themselves for the Apple Watch. The company will also giving the customers an opportunity to try the Watch on their wrist at the Apple retail stores. Apple has made several additions for the customers to explore the Watch from every aspect fully.
Apple Watch will be arriving on 4th of April this year, and few months later in the India.
