Amazon has launched the latest Kindle Voyage in the Indian market for a starting price of Rs. 16,499. Kindle Voyage, is one of the most advanced e-book readers company has ever launched and comes pre-loaded with several features giving you a rich reading experience.

Amazon has revamped the entire design of the Kindle in the new Voyage. Forget that vintage old box style structure, Voyage’s entire back has been made out with a soft rubbery finish having angular and edgy design. The top portion has been made out of plastic and houses a power button in adjacent to it. The design provides a better grip, however, users will be having a hard time wiping off the finger prints.

Talking about the screen type and resolution, the 6-inch display is Carta E-ink screen with 300 PPI. The display type in Voyage is good at showing even the minute details in the books, and has a reinforced glass that can protect the surface from accidental scratches.

It has the thinnest design with 7.6mm and weighs only 188 gm, for both the 3G and WiFi model. However, the biggest addition to the Voyage is the PagePress that lets you turn the pages just by pressing the buttons. PagePress is a set of buttons located on the both sides of the display, to provide an easy navigation through the book pages. In previous generation, this was not present, and only touch option was there for turning the pages.

The software is almost similar to the older generation Kindle devices and offers various features. For an instance, you can swipe down the screen to move in between different chapters, and the X-Ray feature that provides details of the characters in a novel.

The Kindle Voyage is priced at Rs. 16,499 Wi-Fi version and Rs. 20,499 for the Wi-Fi+3G version. However, the price is quite expensive as there are products in the market that can offer more features, but with a downside in the reading experience. For example, the iPad Mini with Retina display can be purchased for almost same the price.
