The mobile operator, Aircel announced on Monday that the company is now offering ‘most innovative and affordable’ data packs with prices starting from Rs. 9 and up to Rs. 403. It further said that the lowering the data charges will motivate more people to go online by using their handheld devices.
Elaborating in detail, Aircel reveals that the cheapest data pack worth Rs. 9 will allow to transfer 100 MB of data in 2G/3G bandwidth for one day, followed by Rs. 79 for 1GB data and 10 days oof validity, 3GB of data for 30 days and 7.5Gb data for 15 days, in exchange with Rs. 249 and Rs. 403, respectively.
Commenting on the announcement, National Head-Data of Aircel, Sunil Kattam said that the new data tariffs will enable the willing consumers to surf Internet those who can’t afford the high prices. The telco has reduced 60 percent or rates in prepaid Internet plans, while, it allows the postpaid users to browse Internet free on their network with a speed limit up to 64 Kbps.
“We’re confident our products will help fuel internet adoption for those who still aren’t online,” Kattam said. “There has been a dramatic increase in the sales of smartphones and this has led to a widespread need of data. The sudden proliferation in online entertainment platforms has led to consumers spending more time on their smartphones than watching TV. Therefore, being a data-focused company, constantly innovating with data products is the only way to stay relevant for our consumers.”
