India Bike Week (IBW) 2015, is one of the biggest festivals for die-hard bikers in India. Debuted in 2012, the IBW is back again for the third time, promoting the biking culture in India. The crowd consists of over 10,000 bikers and fans from all across India, who congregate in Goa to become a part of the fest.

“From having just one premium bike manufacturer as partners in our first edition, we now have multiple companies that are supporting the event,” said one of the organizers, Thanush Joseph, Director (Marketing), 70 EMG. He further mentioned about several workshops, talks by biking legends (Indian and International), stunt championships and gigs by Indian as well as international artists. With all such events going on, the fest has something for every member of the crowd.

The Harley Owners group (HOG), Chennai, also known as Coromandel Harley, has set off to Goa with 30 riders en route. Their ride started from Sriperumbudur, more than 800 km away from Goa. “The ride remains the most awaited among HOG members. It is a fine opportunity for camaraderie as all Harley chapters come together at a single venue. Goa will be a double delight for riders as 2015 marks the fifth year of the American motorcycle brand’s advent in India,” said Karthikeyan Srinivasan, Director of Coromandel Harley.

The two-day motorcycle extravaganza features a bike parade by the big shot manufacturers like Harley-Davidson and Triumph Motorcycles. Some other entertaining events include asphalt-smoking drag races, best rock music shows and bike washes from international bikini-clad models.

The highlights of the show include headlining act by a UK-based rock band, BabyHead, and some other ear-deafening performances by DJ Akhtar, Nucleya, Ash Roy, Frame/Frame, OX7GEN, Blackstratblues and Whirling Kalapas, among others. Showcasing the stories of 15 legendary riders, that include, Rashmi Thambe (editor, Global Women Who Ride), Hubert Kriegel, Sheonagh Ravensdale, Pat Thomson (Women’s International Motorcycle Association) and Sushant Shetty (London to India solo on a Hayabusa). There will also be a charity ride, whose collections would be donated towards the cause of providing equal opportunities for underprivileged kids.
