The Incheon Asian Para Games started on October 18, 2014 and ended on October 24, 2014, organized at Incheon, South Korea. It was a parallel sports event for Asian athletes with a disability similar as in Asian Games. China succeeded to rank first in Medal-Tally with 317 medals including 174 Golds, 95 Silvers and 48 Bronze.
Indian participants Sharad Kumar, Amit Kumar and Parul Dalsukhbhai Parma won golds in men’s high jump, men’s club throw and women’s singles badminton respectively. They shined like a star in the games and brought pride and prestige to India. President also celebrated their success.
Para Asian Games is organized in a cycle of four years, and 2018 Para Asian Games will be hosted by Jakarta, Indonesia. India got 14 medals in 2010 games, but they exponentially increased their medal tally to 33 in Incheon Para Asian Games. It will be hard for Indian Para athletes to maintain the elevated graph and further improve their performance to score even more medals in 2018 Para Asian Games.
