BCCI passes Narine's bowling action with last and final warning

Kolkata Knight Riders’s mystery spinner Sunil Narine has been given a green flag from the BCCI to bowl in the ongoing IPL and other matches which was organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The board has given a last and final warning to him and said that if he again changed his remodeled action then he will be banned to bowl for the rest of the tournaments.

The right-arm spinner who has bowled exceptionally well in his career and have become nightmare for many batsmen, was prohibited from bowling off-spin in the IPL matches for a suspected illegal action. The match officials reported Narine for throwing certain suspected deliveries which seemed illegal during an IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Visakhapatnam on April 22.

The biomechanical analysis of Sunil’s bowling action that was scheduled at the Sri Ramachandra Arthroscopy and SRASSC (Sports Sciences Centre in Chennai) was held only for his action whereas the umpires Vineet Kulkarni, Richard LLLingworth and Referee Manu Nayar checked and put some doubts about his off-break bowling action after KKR’s match played against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Vizac earlier this season of the IPL.

In the media release, BCCI said that the analysis has reassured the first Official Assessment by the Committee which confirms that the bowler does not break the Law 24.2. Now the Committee has also made sure that His name will be took out from the Suspect Bowling Action List.

The defending Champion KKR were facing trouble with selection of playing 11 whether they should include Sunil or Brad Hogg in their playing XI for today’s match of the eye-grabbing tournament against Delhi Daredevils. KKR have to keep in mind that Sunil has not been able to create an impact in any of the five matches he played this season, but on the other side, Brad Hogg has bowled really well.
