Providing Android Nougat update to the existing smartphones to consumers’ hands, several mobile phone manufacturers are doing their best and joining them the Chinese smartphone major Xiaomi has announced a list of smartphones will be soon updated to the Nougat OS via its MIUI 9 skin.
XiaomiAdvices reported that there might be more handsets eligible after the said devices, such as Redmi Note 3, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3/3S/3A, Mi4i and Mi Pad in Q1 2017 While, Xiaomi Mi 4c, Mi 4s, Mi Max, and Mi Note will be first devices to receive the update and the newer device include the newer devices like the Mi MIX, Mi Note 2.

The MIUI 9 will be the next UI from Xiaomi based on latest Android Nougat Recently, a screenshot of MIUI 9 leak suggests a huge space requirement of up to 1.8GB in order to get the update, according to GSMArena. It is expected to be rolled out in June 2017. MIUI has been praised for its user-friendly nature, and after its MIUI 8 gets thumbs up, the upcoming UI is said to be launched after the Android 7.0 Nougat update next year.
Android 7.0 Nougat’s pleasant new features include Multi-window, Quick Switch (switch to the previous app using the multitasking button), and VR support/ Daydream (for more powerful VR experience).
Additional notable features include beyond what Android 7.0 Nougat brings new mojos, enhanced file browser, clear all, current apps, push notifications, Google Assistant enhanced Java 8 language support, smooth updates, and data saver, direct reply notifications, additional power competence.
When users will start receiving the Nougat update, the company advises them to download and install it when the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network and only if the cell-Phone has more than 50% percent charge. If a customer has got a notification message for the update, they should then choose “Yes, I’m in”, and once the update is downloaded, click on Install Now. Those who haven’t get a message should go to Settings > About Phone > System updates, and then if an update is available, follow the above process.
