Reshma Khatoon and Bismillah Khatoon are those teenage girls who are all set to give yoga lesson to BJP chief Amit Shah and some other union ministers on Yoga Day in June 21.
The teenage girls are now keen to give yoga lessons to PM Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee. Both the girls share a close bond with yoga and came to the notice of Union government and have agreed that the opportunity to give yoga lessons to BJP chief will be for sure a next big step in their journey.
Talking about her preparations and plan on teaching yoga to Amit Shah, Reshma said that she will begin with Surya namaskaar, teach pranayama and then move to other yogic asanas. Reshma has been practicing yoga since 2012 and her sister started doing yoga when she was just nine years old. Both were inspired by their parents to do so.
The younger but experienced girl said that she desires to teach the ten asanas to Amit Shah.
The two girls live in Bengali refugee colony which houses the migrants from erstwhile East Pakistan during the 1971 war which led to the formation of Bangladesh.
The colony is known as Yoga village as all the 1500 odd families which reside there know yoga and all due to the efforts of one person- Ashok Sarkar who also taught yoga to Bismillah and Reshma.
The girls come from the only two Muslims families in area and are highly skilled in Yoga. They have represented India in international competitions and camps.
Ajit Kumar, in charge of Patanjali Yogpeeth in Bihar and Jharkhand said that 20, 000 people are expected to attend the yoga event in Patna on Sunday which will be a grand event and around 8000 will flock to the Moinul Haque stadium.
