Amidst the reports of low keenness of Nitish Kumar for an alliance, Janta Dal United president Sharad Yadav has set foot forward to resolve the issues between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Lalu Prasad to form a strong alliance that can withstand BJP in coming assembly elections.

JD (U) chief will be reaching Patna on Friday and will immediately meet Nitish and Lalu.  Following their defeat at the hands of BJP, a peace equation was developed between Nitish and Lalu but it did not survive long. According to Sharad Yadav, people’s belief in them is clear in by elections held in Bihar and they would not let the Janta Parivaar fall apart. He confirmed that JD (U) and RJD will contest the Bihar polls together with Congress, Left Parties and NCP.

It is being speculated that in order to stitch the fallen equation, the party is ready to part with 100 of 243 seats for RJD. Same number will be kept for itself. 30-32 seats are expected to be given to Congress and communist parties will be offered eight to ten seats. The JD (U) leader said that the party is ready to sacrifice eight of the sitting MLAs from its party and that they have no grudges against Lalu’s party for increasing their share to 100.

Sharad Yadav, however, said that owing to his ‘brand’, Nitish will be the Joint Chief Ministerial candidate and that this is in favor of all parties. Any possibility of Deputy Ministerial duty being assigned to leader of alliance partner is shunned because it is being considered counter to an effective government.

But the speculations about an important position to be assigned to the family member of Lalu are strong on hold and can be expected to be followed.
