Another recklessly driven BMW is in news again for a major accident in Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar neighborhood early on Sunday. The car, driven by a 25 year old youth, first rammed into a Renault Duster and then crashed into the boundary wall of a residential colony in the area.
While there are no casualties reported yet, three people were seriously injured in the accident. According to the residents of the area, the incident occurred supposedly around 3:30 am on Sunday.
The BMW was being driven by 25 year old Aryan Kumar, son of a Delhi businessman, who was accompanied by a lady during the time of accident, while the Renault Duster was being driven by a final-year MBBS student Adil Aamin. According to the police, neither of the drivers tested positive for alcohol in their blood stream.
“Adil, a final-year MBBS student at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College of Safdarjung Hospital, was returning to his hostel from Chanakyapuri, when the BMW coming from the opposite direction lost control near the traffic signal of Sarojini Nagar’s Railway Colony and rammed into his Duster,” a police official told Press Trust of India.
The cars made a collision at the traffic signal near Sarojini Nagar’s Railway Colony. BMW was at such a high speed that it didn’t stop after collision and went on to hit the boundary wall of the government colony causing further collateral damage.
Even though the accident was furious, all the three passengers were safe. However, they suffered minor head injuries, and were rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where they were released after medical aid.
A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the BMW driver, Aryan, whose statement has been recorded with the Police.
