President Pranab Mukherjee today boarded on a two-day visit to Bhutan with an eye to stronger their bilateral ties. President is warmly welcomed by the Bhutan king and his wife in an appropriate gesture. This moment came after 26 years when any Indian head of state is visiting Bhutan for bilateral tie-ups.
It was unexpected to have a warm welcome from Bhutan king Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck with his wife at the airport as a particular gesture to receive Mukherjee President. Many school kids were standing at the airport, holding both countries flag and making friendly atmosphere there.
President is going to meet King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, and the Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay in a meeting, which will help to expand the bilateral ties to a new level. This meeting will probably help India in supporting Bhutan for its growth.
The high level delegates comprising Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha, Members of Parliament Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Anil Shirole, Mahendra Nath Pandey (all BJP) and Gaurav Gogoi (Congress) have also accompanied President in this visit.
The tour comprises some agreements in education sector that are likely to be signed during this visit. Prime minister Narendra modi have already visited the Bhutan nearly five months ago, and after that it is the second visit to Bhutan in such a short period by an Indian President, aiming to have better foreign affairs between both nations. Bhutan had isolated itself from the world by staying out from all matters of International organisation.
Bhutan only have few bilateral relationship, among that India is one of them. Relation between both the nations is not new as they both acquires a healthy relationship since India got freedom, and Bhutan was one of the first nation to recognise India’s independence.
This visit is considered to be worthy for both the nations as they comprise a strong bonding, which may end in many positive results.
