A man with his two friends was arrested by Crime Branch Unit (CBI) for the murder of a 24-year old man who lived in Tardeo and regularly approached murderer’s girlfriend . 32-year old woman, who also belonged to Tardeo, was in a relationship with accused Sameer Rohikar for past ten years, but victim Prasad Prakash Mandavkar had interfering in their personal life from last one year.
The Crime Branch Unit inspector Sanjay Nikumbe said that Mandavkar followed the woman. Rohikar tried to stop him, but without changing his mind, he continued to follow her. So at last, Rohikar took a decision to handle this matter on his own.
He received help from his two best friends Rohit Bangera (19-year old) and George Fernandis (34-year old). All three friends decided to indulge in criminal activities and called Mandavkar near Chheda Nagar in Chembur and gave him a drink in which sleeping pills were mixed to make him unconscious. When they succeeded in their plan, then he killed him with a Knife and took all his belongings which may help to identify him like wallet and documents. However, when family members of Mandavkar filed a missing case in Tardeo Police Station, then Police started their investigation to find him, and they found the body near Tilak Nagar Bridge on January 8, 2015. Family members identified Mandavkar’s body.
Nikumbe said that when his team took statements of his close friends, then they get to know about three accused friends. The three murderers have been charged under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
Mumbai is always known for crimes in the past. Recently, Senior Lawyer Diwakar Singh attempted a rape on his four official trips to Delhi, Chennai and Pune.
