Jitan Ram Manjhi has announced a tie up with BJP for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. The mahadalit leader Manjhi said that this tie up is crucial to beat the unholy alliance of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad.
After his thirty minute meeting with BJP chief Amit Shah, Manjhi said that they will work together to prevent Kumar or Lalu from coming to power.
Recently RJD chief Lalu was making attempts to bring Kumar and Manjhi together, however Manjhi has made it clear that he would not be a part of any alliance that has kumar, who had dethroned him.
Manjhi claimed to have conducted rallies in state which resulted in a consensus amongst public to get rid of Lalu-nitish tie.
According to Manjhi, Yadavs no longer trust Lalu because he has joined hands with Ntish who had pushed many Yadavs behind bars for petty charges.
Manjhi confirmed that the Hindustani awam Morcha will continue to run and become part and parcel of NDA against Niitis-Lalu alliance.
Manjhi told that yet no decisions on seat sharing have been made with BJP and the decisions for the same will be taken after the meeting on 15 June. Talking about the chief Ministerial candidate,
Manjhi said that it would be better if that is announced after the elections. He claimed that the meeting with BJP was facilitated on a smooth note and both are ready to help each other at the longest stretch. It must be noted that in order to bank the dalit votes which play a major role in Bihar politics, BJP had been trying to bring in Manjhi with it.
Besides Shah, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, party’s general secretary of Bihar Bhupendra Yadav was also present in the meeting.
Earlier a meeting was held between Shah and union minister Upendra Khushwala and discussed the poll strategy for Bihar.
