Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is stranded in a controversy with the completion of his one-year term at the office.
According to a local news channel in Telangana, T News, the legislator who was arrested for cash on vote politic had the support of Naidu. Interestingly the news channel which has aired the audio clip as proof for the same is owned by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s family.
The legislator handcuffed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau was allegedly caught red-handed while offering bribe. The deal was struck at five crores to seek support of the Elvis Stephenson inn Telangana legislative council election and out of that amount Rs 50 lakh was seized.
Anti-Corruption Bureau has released audio tapes in which Naidu is being constantly referred by TDP legislator Revanth Reddy. He calls Naidu as his boss, refers Naidu by his name and also claims that he is authorized by the AP Chief Minister himself.
The advisor to the Andhra Pradesh Government, Parakala Prabhakar however, claims that the conversation in the audio tape is not authentic and according to him this was not the conversation of Chief Minister of AP. Prabhakar has stated that they will fight the issue constitutionally and politically with legal terms.
Notable is the fact that even the Home Minister and other ministers had also accused Naidu for the same and had pleaded to make Naidu accused number one in the cash for vote scam.
TRS government and Police have been accused by TDP for illegally tapping Naidu’s and other minister’s phone calls.
When Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad was to remain shared capital for ten years. However, both Naidu and KCR have emerged as bitter foes that cannot stand each other and have constantly accused each other for some issue or other.
