With four days of Delhi polls, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) released its “Vision Document”, on Tuesday. The document lays particular emphasis on women security (one of the most sort of matters in the capital) along with a roadmap to turn New Delhi into world class city. Development seems to be the primary agenda of BJP in the document. However, BJP doesn’t clarify the issue of full statehood to the national capital in its “Vision Document” which was one of the key agendas in 2013 Delhi elections.
To counter AAP’s 70 point manifesto which came two days before BJP released its “Vision Document” that includes almost all essential aspects related to Delhites including reduction in electricity bill, 24 hour power supply, fulfilling water shortage, strict and disciplined government, pukka houses for slum dwellers, etc.
“We will make Delhi a world-class city. We will ensure development of all sections. Women security will be a priority area for us,” BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi said releasing the document along with senior leaders Nirmala Sitharaman, Ananth Kumar, Harsh Vardhan, party’s Delhi unit Chief Satish Upadhyay.
BJP plans to rationalize water rates and said that water in Delhi will be brought from MunaK Canal in cooperation with Haryana government to fulfil the water demand. Development and regularisation of unauthorised colonies will be done in the capital if they come into power, Bedi said.
Being from the police background Ms. Bedi laid particular emphasis on security and she plans to deploy home guards and surprise inspection in the capital. Few days back, Ms. Bedi said that police will be accountable for the every crime in the capital. She aims to unify police control under one roof where so as to keep a close eye on every lodged complaint and action taken after by the police. BJP didn’t release manifesto this year as they believe that the “Vision Document” will give a better roadmap for development of the capital along with PM Modi’s aim.
With both the major parties AAP and BJP out with their manifesto and vision document respectively, it will be a tough call to say which party has an upper edge at present. Let’s see which party lures the voters the most.Tags: AAP, BJP, Delhi elections, vision document
