The Senior CPI leader Govind Pansare Ji and his wife who were shot by some assailants are in a critical condition in Aster Aadhar Hospital and are fighting for their lives. The couple was shot while returning from their morning walk when the attack happened and were immediately rushed to the Aster Aadhar Hospital, which made it possible to save their lives.
Their condition is said to be critical but stable. This attack has been viewed as an outrage since Govind Pansare was a social worker apart from being the Senior CPI leader. Shiv Sena has been out condemning BJP for the attack. The unsolved murder of anti-superstition activist Narendra Dabholkar is brought up saying that since it was Congress government that time, hence the case wasn’t solved, but what is BJP doing now?
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray and Leader of Opposition in state Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil have showcased their anger over the matter saying that this case needs to be solved as soon as possible. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tweeted, “Directed SP to speed up the investigation and arrest the assailants. 10 teams would be formed. DG to supervise the investigation.”
The police have been able to detain five youths who might be connected with the attack. Some activists have also said that they have noticed some unknown people attending Pansare’s functions that were not part of their movement.
It has also been revealed that Pansare used to receive steady threats saying that he will be assassinated just like Narendra Dabholkar who was also murdered in the wake of the light. His case also rests unsolved in the history of shot and run cases.
We hope that the culprits are caught as soon as possible and may justice be served. We wish Mr Pansare and his wife a speedy and healthy recovery.
