After unveiling of MIUI 7 in China, Xiaomi has introduced its new Android-based ROM in an event held at New Delhi. At the event, the firm has also announced a limited edition of Mi4i smartphone, which will be available in Pink, Yellow, Blue color variants, matching the color of new system themes as a part of new OS.
The phone will be available for sale starting from, August 25, at the same price tag, i.e. Rs 12,999 for 16 GB variant and Rs. 14,999 for 32 GB variant. Currently, it is available in only White and Black color options.
It runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop layered with MIUI 6 (upgradable to MIUI 7), which is supported by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor that is bundled with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Till date, the handset is available in 16 GB storage variant with no storage expandability option and it is expected that the country-specific 32 GB variant would also lack the feature.

It is featured with a 5-inch full-HD fully laminated OGS Corning Concore IPS display with 1080×1920 pixels of resolution and 441 ppi of pixel density and a 5 megapixel of user-facing camera above it. Also, the manufacturer has provided a 13 megapixel of decent photography solution which features f/2.0 aperture lens and dual-tone flash.
The Xiaomi Mi4i is a dual-SIM smartphone that comes with 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, 3.5mm stereo audio jack and Micro-USB 2.0, as connectivity options. The handset boasts a 3120 mAh of battery that is claimed to be quickly charged up to 40 percent in an hour and it will be fully charged after supplying power for three hours.

Besides this, Xiaomi announced that in India the beta update, MIUI 7 will start rolling out on Monday. The new OS from the company is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, which is developed and designed by ‘750-strong R&D team’. After updating the device to MIUI7 the users will get various themes that will suit for both men and women.
The developers has been added several lockscreen features, including tune unlock, ‘Howzat’ cricket game, and much more. The company said, ” “We’ve already made two cricket themes in India and they both did so well that we decided to do it again but step it up a notch.”
It comes with over 1500 colorful themes and a web tool called Muse, which allows users to create a custom theme for their handset. In addition, compnay claims that thier new OS is also integrated with several performance measures that makes the device work faster and to offer an improved 10 percent battery backup.
