After unveiling the prices of Redmi 2 and Mi Pad, the Chinese smartphone firm, Xiaomi, has now announced the release dates for the Mi Pad in India. The company unveiled that it is going to launch the 7.9 inch tablet on March 24, and will be available for sale for Rs. 12,999 at the online retail giant, Flipkart, through weekly flash sale.
As TeCake earlier reported, the Xiaomi Mi Pad, which sounds like an Apple iPad, comes in two storage variants, 16 GB and 32 GB. The tablet boasts a 7.9-inch Corning Gorilla Glass, IPS LCD with 1536 x 2048 pixels of resolution with 324 ppi. The tablet doesn’t have a SIM card slot; thus, only Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac is present as an option for Internet connectivity.
Apart from this, the device is powered with a 2.2 GHz Quad-core Nvidia Tegra K chipset, which is well-known chipset among the gamers, coupled with a 2 GB of RAM. in addition, it is featured with an 8 megapixel of rear image snapper and a 5 megapixel of front webcam. The device is fueled with a 6700 mAh of gigantic battery and measures 202 x 135.4 x 8.5 mm in dimensions and weighs 360 g. The smartphone also runs on Android KitKat 4.4.

The mobile phone is fronted with a 2 megapixel, 720p of a secondary camera. Meanwhile, the back of the device boasts a 8 mega pixel of camera with autofocus and LED flash. The device comes in two variant; one comes with 8 GB of internal storage that is coupled with a 1 GB of RAM, whereas the 16 GB variant sports 2 GB of RAM.
