The popular Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi is trying to target each category of Indian smartphone users, as the firm seems to introduce the 32 GB variant of its Mi4i Android phone in the market for the users who store lots of videos, pictures and music on their portable devices.
Meanwhile, targeting South Indian consumers the company has added support for 6 Indian languages to the device, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil.
The firm has released a teaser image on its Facebook handle, which says that the company is going to reveal something on July 22, 2015. Meanwhile, the image is quoted with a text, “Move 4 to double” and captioned with a statement, “Something new is coming your way this 22nd July, spearheading our #MiAnniversary birthday celebrations.”
The image also shows a cryptic message formed by the matchsticks, reading “16”. Therefore, from the teaser it can be assumed that Xiaomi may be doubling the internal storage for its Mi4i handset. The company has unveiled the Xiaomi Mi4i back in April, this year at a price of Rs. 12,999 with 16 GB of onboard storage.
It runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop layered with MIUI 6, which is supported by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor that is bundled with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Till date, the handset is available in 16 GB storage variant with no storage expandability option and it is expected that the country-specific 32 GB variant would also lack the feature.
It is featured with a 5-inch full-HD fully laminated OGS Corning Concore IPS display with 1080×1920 pixels of resolution and 441 ppi of pixel density and a 5 megapixel of user-facing camera above it. Also, the manufacturer has provided a 13 megapixel of decent photography solution which features f/2.0 aperture lens and dual-tone flash.
The Xiaomi Mi4i is a dual-SIM smartphone that comes with 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, 3.5mm stereo audio jack and Micro-USB 2.0, as connectivity options. The handset boasts a 3120 mAh of battery that is claimed to be quickly charged up to 40 percent in an hour and it will be fully charged after supplying power for three hours.
By unveiling a device on July 22, the firm is celebrating its one year in the Indian smartphone market, as Xiaomi has entered the Indian shores on July 22, 2014.
