Strengthing grounds in the smartphone market, Xiaomi has launched Redmi 2A smartphone on the occasion of its fifth anniversary with a price tag of 599 Yaun (~Rs. 6000) and will be available at a discounted price of 499 Yaun on April 8. The mobile phone is reportedly called as a budget variant of recently launched Redmi 2.
At the same event, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has also unveiled the Pink edition of Mi Note that is a “tailored edition for modern ladies”, at a price of 2,499 Yaun(~Rs. 25,000) with free 5000 mAh Mi power bank. The 16 Gb pink variant has slightly higher price than the basic Mi Pad that was launched at 2,299 Yaun(~Rs. 23,000).
Moreover, the Redmi 2A runs on MiUi based on Android OS supported by a 1.4GHz quad-core Leadcore (L1860C) Cortex-A7 processor that is coupled with 1GB of RAM. Also, the smartphone is fronted with a 4.7 inch 720p HD display and a 2 megapixel of a webcam. Meanwhile, the back of the device boasts an 8 megapixel of primary image snapper.
Under the hood, the firm is offering a 2200 mAh of battery to the device and an 8 gigabytes of internal storage that can be expandable via a micro SD card. However, the detailed specifications are yet to be unveiled by the company.
Besides this, the second flash sale of the sibling phone, Redmi 2 has disappointed many Indian buyers as the device goes out of stock in 87 seconds. The counters recorded that around 5000 handsets were sold during the period.
However, the firm hasn’t revealed the exact number of devices and the time period in which they were going to be available for sale. The sale was conducted the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart, today starting from 2:00 pm.
